Building a website is an easy, straightforward process when you are working with Red Sky. We follow a 4 stage process so that you know what to expect as your website is developed.
Planning Stage
The most important step of the process as it get everyone on the same page.
Our first planning meeting will be filled with questions:
- What type of website is required?
- How much time do you have to maintain the site?
- Who should read this website?
- Were do they live?
- What language do they speak?
Also, the basic navigation with a list of the pages that will be created. Usually you will be responsible to provide the written content that will go in each page. We do have ghost writers available to help you in this process.
We send you a proposal detailing what the contents and functionality of your website will be. All the specific details of the service that we will provide and what is expected of you will be outlined along with expected completion dates.
If you approve the proposal you make a deposit of 25% to start work.
Design Stage
Is this stage we create a layout for your website. This includes the basic graphics such as the header and footers of the site. The layout of the website is very important. Certain sections of a web page are referred to as hotspots. These are the areas were a reader will first look. It is important that we present your most important messages in these hot spots.
This is also the stage when we get to have some fun. The colors and graphics for your site are defined and incorporated into your layout. We will meet and present the layout to you and give you an opportunity to make changes.
Once everyone is satisfied with the design we ask for a further 25% deposit.
Building Stage
This is when it starts to come to life. The content that you have provided is put together with the layout. The graphics are put in place and all the pages are linked together.
Throughout this process you will be able to check in on the site and see how it is progressing. Although the site will not be "published" you will be able to see it and watch the progress.
The Final Stage!
We will present the final website to you and ask for you to sign off on its completion. At this time we will also provide you with a short training session on how to use your new website. You will be able to edit existing pages as well as create new ones just like if you were using your favorite word processor.
